Fillers are wonderfully versatile and can be used to enhance and redefine the facial features – with natural looking results. Unlike surgical procedures, fillers offer an affordable alternative to help you achieve your desired look without the recovery time and invasiveness of surgery.

Unfortunately, filler treatments are temporary, however, results can last from around six months to two years, depending on the type of filler and the amount administered.

Lastingness can vary from client to client, but is generally most impacted by your metabolic rate which may affect how quickly your body begins to break down the filler. Smoking and sun exposure can also influence treatment length.

For those unsure about undergoing filler treatment, you should know that if you are unhappy with the final outcome of your treatment, the filler can be removed immediately. By instantly dissolving the filler, there will be no lasting damage or effect.

How long do lip fillers last?

Lip fillers are one of our most popular cosmetic treatments to treat thin lips, where having a fuller, larger lip is culturally desired and often associated with sensuality and femininity.

Many celebrities, from Kyle Jenner to Cindy Crawford, have also undergone lip augmentation in the quest for their ideal lips or used it as a way to maintain fullness.

The desire to have larger lips, maintain lip size or enhance your natural shape, is easily met through hyaluronic acid lip filler

When we get older, collagen depletes and the lips gradually lose volume. Lip injections can help you achieve your wanted shape immediately with the fillers typically lasting from 6 – 12 months

As mentioned earlier, lastingness can vary from client to client with intrinsic and extrinsic ageing factors, like metabolism, smoking and sun exposure all influencing length.

How long do cheek fillers last?

Cheek fillers are ideal for anyone wanting to restore volume to sunken, depressed cheeks. Like all the filler treatments at sk:n, cheek fillers can instantly uplift your appearance, giving you defined cheekbones for a younger, contoured and natural looking appearance.

Cheek fillers are a type of dermal filler that can combat stubborn signs of ageing, create definition and add volume to sagging, lifeless skin.

This treatment can last up to 12 months, with some clients saying they saw visible results for up to 18 months. Treatment length may vary depending on the type of filler used.

At sk:n we offer two dermal filler treatments, one type of filler is Juvéderm® and the other, Scupltra™

Juvéderm® is made from the naturally occurring protein, hyaluronic acid, best known for its plumping and skin-firming qualities.

Scupltra™ is made from poly-l-lactic acid which helps to stimulate collagen production and maintain skin elasticity.

Juvéderm® filler lasts up to 12 months whereas Sculptra™ can last up to two years.

How long does jaw filler last?

Jawline filler can help create a chiselled, defined jawline. If you have a weak jawline, this type of treatment can work to re-establish a noticeably sharper silhouette after the first session.

The amount of jaw filler is modified to help achieve your desired look and be used to create a range of jaw shapes, such as a square or diamond shaped jawline as well as help lessen the appearance of a double chin.

Jaw fillers can also be used to address any loose, sagging skin below the jaw

Similarly to cheek fillers, depending on the filler type and amount used, treatment can last up to six months to two years

How long do nose fillers last?

Nose fillers, or a non-surgical rhinoplasty, is a non-invasive way of achieving your ideal nose shape without the risk of surgical permanency.

Compared to surgical nose jobs, nose filler is a popular, quick option – without the long-term bruising and recovery that surgery involves.

Nose fillers can be used to treat a variety of nose concerns, including asymmetry, a ‘hooked’ nose and unevenness or bumps. Inserting small amounts of filler into the nose area can work wonders in producing significant and natural results.

Dermal fillers and Scupltra™ are the two available options to help contour the nose. Depending on your preferences, the main differences between the two treatments is permanency. Dermal fillers usually lasts up to one year and Scupltra™, two years

As mentioned above, some internal and external factors can influence treatment length.

How long do tear trough fillers last?

Persistent dark circles, eye bags, fine lines and sunken eyes can be instantly revitalised with tear trough fillers.

Tear trough filler treatment is a type of dermal filler that works to treat tired, aged eyes and boosts volume and collagen production simultaneously for a brighter eye area.

It has multiple benefits for anyone looking for a fast way of improving their eye appearance and can correct any hollowing under the eyes, eradicate fine lines and lighten any darkened, undereye bags.

As these dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid Juvéderm® fillers, they usually dissolve after one year, however, treatment length can vary from individual to individual.

Key Learnings

  • If you are unhappy with your treatment, the effects of the filler can be dissolved immediately by your doctor or nurse and without leaving behind any lasting damage.
  • Filler treatment length can alter depending on the type of filler, the amount used and your body’s expulsion process.
  • Fillers can give you affordable, natural looking enhancements quickly – without the side effects and recovery of surgery.
