Preparing for Profhilo® treatment
For at least 24 hours before treatment, you should avoid drinking alcohol and taking anti-inflammatories or aspirin. Please consult your GP beforehand if you are taking these for an ongoing medical condition.
Profhilo® aftercare, downtime and side-effects
After treatment, we advise you to not wear makeup and avoid going to the gym, sauna or steam room for at least 24 hours. You should also avoid touching or rubbing the injection site for a few days post treatment.
You may experience a little bruising and inflammation where the needle has punctured the skin, but this will naturally disappear after a while, just as any bruise would.
There is no downtime associated with this treatment and you should be able to return to work straight away.
Is Profhilo dangerous?
At sk:n every client seeking injectable treatments with Profhilo is given an in-depth consultation that examines motivation and expectations. We have the highest level of regulation in the industry, exceeding all recommended guidelines and requirements. Our clinics are safe, medical environments and your treatment will be carried out only by a highly qualified doctor or nurse prescriber.
What are the benefits of Profhilo?
Profhilo is an anti-ageing hydration treatment that helps to boost hydration beneath the surface of the skin and kickstart the natural production of collagen and elastin (two key proteins that give the skin its structure).
How many Profhilo treatments do I need?
Two treatment sessions spaced four weeks apart are needed in order to see visible results.
How much is Profhilo?
A single Profhilo treatment costs from £315. Exact costs are confirmed after a free consultation with a doctor or nurse prescriber.

What is in Profhilo?
This anti-ageing hydration treatment contains high levels of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring compound.
Does Profhilo hurt?
Unlike procedures such as surgical face lifts or implants, Profhilo requires no cuts, incisions or stitches to be made, although the procedure may involve some light pain or discomfort. Depending on the area being treated, the treatment usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, and clients describe it as a tiny scratch as the needle goes in. For those feeling anxious, we can use a local anaesthetic to numb the area completely.
Who can administer Profhilo?
It is important that you visit a private clinic such as sk:n where your Profhilo can be administered professionally and safely by a qualified doctor or nurse prescriber in a safe clinical environment.
How long before you see results from Profhilo?
You can expect to see a more hydrated appearance immediately after treatment, and an overall improvement in the skin’s tone, texture and elasticity after eight weeks.
How long do Profhilo results last?
The results from Profhilo can last up to six months, but this can vary depending on the individual and their lifestyle choices. Looking after your skin by protecting it from the sun, following a good skincare regime, drinking lots of water and avoiding smoking and alcohol, may help to maintain your results for longer.

Does Profhilo look natural?
The results of Profhilo® are very natural looking. It simply enhances and improves the tone, texture and elasticity of the skin, letting your natural beauty shine through. It won’t plump out targeted areas of the skin in the same way dermal fillers or lip fillers do, instead it will rejuvenate the entire treatment area for a dewy, healthy glow from within.
Is Profhilo a filler?
Profhilo® harnesses the power of hydration to improve the overall texture and tone of the skin. In comparison, Dermal fillers are used to target key points around the face (such as the lips and cheekbones) adding volume to sculpt and enhance.
