Mr Juan Berner is a fully-accredited Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with his NHS practice based in The Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.He completed his postgraduate surgical training in the UK, working at prestigious centres such as Southmead Hospital in Bristol and Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. This was followed by two advanced fellowships, at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and St Thomas Hospital in London.

Mr Berner is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and a Full Member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). Following completion of his training, he was included in the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.

Mr Berner is an academically active clinician, publishing regularly in scientific peer-reviewed journals. In 2019 he was awarded a MSc in Surgical Science and Practice by the University of Oxford and is currently working towards obtaining a Doctorate in Philosophy in the same institution. He has received multiple prizes, including the Barron Prize awarded by BAPRAS and Young Plastic Surgeon Scholarship awarded by the European Society of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS).
