Your Trusted Rosacea Treatment Clinic in London

Rosacea is an irritating, unsightly and difficult-to-manage skin condition. It affects the skin on the face, most often on and around the nose and cheeks, and can be uncomfortable and even painful in some cases. It's a complicated condition which may present different symptoms depending on the individual and needs expert diagnosis and treatment. Our qualified practitioners, nurses and doctors in London have years of experience in treating rosacea and can help you to find the most appropriate and effective treatment.

WHAT IS ROSACEA TREATMENT?

Sadly, there’s currently no cure for Rosacea, only treatment and avoidance of triggers. But treatments have evolved considerably over recent years, allowing sufferers of rosacea to enjoy clearer, smoother, stress-free skin.

At sk:n we understand and empathise with your battle against rosacea and can help. We offer market-leading, clinically effective treatments and products to people who have already been diagnosed with rosacea by their GP. With over 20 years’ experience in treating rosacea-prone skin, we know the treatment plans that work best.

WHICH TREATMENT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

The best rosacea treatment for you depends on the type and severity of symptoms you have. At your consultation your doctor will be able to diagnose your condition before deciding on a recommended approach.

Laser Treatment

For patients with visible blood vessels, laser treatment can be used to shrink them.

The treatment uses brief pulses of light energy that target only the blood vessel, leaving surrounding skin unharmed.

Skin Peels

Skin peels help rosacea by exfoliating the top layers of skin, speeding up skin turnover and preventing pores from becoming clogged with dead skin cells, which can aggravate rosacea.

They can also help to reduce inflammation and promote skin healing. Our peels vary in strength and your practitioner will recommend which one is best for you.

Medication

There is a range of oral and topical medications available and these are capable of treating the redness, pimples, and bumps associated with rosacea.

Such treatments are usually prescribed to gain immediate control over the condition, and subsequent long-term use of topical therapy is advised to maintain remission.

Skin Care Products

A gentle skin-care routine can be invaluable in helping to control rosacea. In general, non-irritating skin-care products are advisable and protection from sun exposure by using a strong sunscreen also helps.

Your practitioner can create a product pack unique to your concerns.

ROSACEA TREATMENT FAQs

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

The exact number of treatments you’ll need depends on the severity of your symptoms. On average, three treatments every seven to 14 days are initially required to get excellent results. After this, your practitioner will discuss a maintenance plan. During your consultation, your practitioner will discuss a complete treatment plan with you to suit your needs and finances.

WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?

sk:n guarantees results: we can’t cure rosacea, but we can dramatically reduce the symptoms. By following your treatment plan, you should see a significant improvement in your skin. In your consultation, your practitioner will discuss your specific condition and the results you can expect to see. It should be noted that a small number of people do not respond to treatment for a variety of reasons.

HOW WILL I FEEL DURING ROSACEA TREATMENT?

Some slight discomfort may be felt during laser treatment, but this is well tolerated by the majority of patients.

IS ROSACEA TREATMENT THE RIGHT TREATMENT FOR ME?

With the range of rosacea treatments available at sk:n, your specialist will be able to advise you on which approach holds the most promise for you. If you have a tan, then you will need to allow this to fade before laser treatment, as the procedure will not be effective otherwise.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER ROSACEA TREATMENT?

Sometimes, laser treatment can leave you with slight bruising and swelling, but this soon settles. In the very rare instance that pain or infection occurs, simple measures such as paracetamol, Aloe Vera gel and antibacterial cream solve the problem.
