What different flower extracts can do for your skin?
It’s finally starting to get warmer and the flowers are finally coming into bloom. There’s something about smelling, seeing and receiving flowers that give off positive vibes. Asides this, over the years we have found inventive ways of exploring the benefits that flower extracts can have on our skin.
Flower extracts are known to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. There are a number of natural brands which are made purely from flower extracts, often referred to as holistic skin products. The rose, which is referred to as ‘the most precious oil in the world’ produces oil that will smooth and help your skin fight the signs of ageing, thanks to its antioxidant benefits.
Orchids
The orchids have often been called ‘the perfect plant for the skin’ simply because it contains calcium, magnesium and zinc which are all beneficial to the skin. Not only does orchid oil moisture the skin it also boosts the skins immunity, reduces fine lines, signs of ageing and soothes the skin.
Lavender
Most of us are aware of the de-stressing properties of lavender, as it makes for a very popular bath soak. Coming from the word ‘to wash’ lavender calms and soothes the skin, making it great for stress relieving.
