How to Prepare Your Skin for Chemical Peels
Insight into preparing your skin to make the most of your chemical peel treatment
After a year of Coronavirus restrictions and at-home remedies, our skin needs that extra boost now more than ever before.
Fortunately, sk:n clinics across the UK are now open for all treatments and launched six Medik8 professional peels, each targeting a different skin concern, all coming with a range of benefits.
However, to maximise these results, it is important to prepare your skin correctly.
In-Clinic Consultation
Your treatment journey will begin with an in-clinic consultation, in the capable hands of one of sk:n’s Medik8 trained therapists, to initially discuss skin preparation.
Skin preparation is vital to ensuring your skin is used to the exfoliating acids and to ensure your desired goals are achieved.
CSA Philosophy
To prepare your skin, Medik8 has a simple CSA Philosophy. Just use three key ingredients, Vitamin C, SPF by day, and Vitamin A at night. Using these ingredients at home in-between chemical peels will help protect your skin and maximise results.
Heliocare Advanced Cream SPF 50
Medik8 ‘s preparation regimen includes products to suit different skin types.
The regimen for skin types 1-3 includes C-Tetra + Intense, which is designed to strengthen the skin’s barrier defence and Crystal Retinol 3, an anti-ageing night serum to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

For skin types 4-6, the regimen also includes a White Balance Brightening Serum, which corrects tone to restore radiance.
