sk:n wins ‘Clinic of the Year 2018’ at the Safety in Beauty Awards
19th July 2018
We’re excited to announce that sk:n has been named Clinic of the Year at the prestigious Safety in Beauty: Pride of Beauty & Aesthetics Diamond Awards, 2018.
Safety in Beauty is a national campaign which was created to help facilitate access to safe and trusted providers of aesthetics treatments. It was launched in October 2013 by aesthetics industry author, international speaker, coach and presenter, Antonia Mariconda.
At 22, Antonia survived a car crash, which left her disfigured and requiring reconstructive plastic surgery. This sparked her interest in aesthetic treatments, and her subsequent experiences - some of which were more positive than others - prompted her to launch an initiative aimed at educating, empowering and supporting consumers within the industry.
The Pride of Beauty & Aesthetics Awards is dedicated to recognising and paying special tribute to outstanding businesses within the industry and highlights those who go the extra mile to provide the highest standards of safety in care.
As news headlines become increasingly peppered with horror stories about botched cosmetic procedures and dissatisfied customers, this type of award is an important recognition of sk:n’s dedication to prioritising client safety. “It’s an acknowledgement of the work we put in to ensure we provide safe, professional care, always putting the welfare of our clients first,” says Lisa Mason-Poyner, sk:n’s Director of Medical Services. “The Safety in Beauty campaign is very much aligned with sk:n’s ethos as an organisation: consumers should have access to safe and effective treatments and should always be provided with enough information to understand the benefits and risks involved. This is something we instill in every facet of the business - and it means a lot for us to be formally recognised for our efforts.”
In order to be considered for the award, sk:n had to demonstrate it met 10 specific requirements, including consistent outstanding clinical results; outstanding customer service, excellent clinical care, communication and aftercare; a commitment to self-improvement via continual professional development, and the ability to deal with victims of adverse or ‘botched’ cosmetic procedures in a compassionate, supportive and helpful way.
