How to reduce hair growth?

9th February 2015

Hairs are a nuisance for women especially unwanted hairs which are due to hormone unbalances with a high level of testosterone. Unfortunately waxing and shaving can get expensive and make your hairs grow stronger. Consequently, we have come up with three great remedies that will help to slow the growth of hairs.

Spearmint Tea

Spearmint tea has surprisingly been suggested to reduce the level of your testosterone hormones and therefore help diminish your growth of hairs. Just by drinking the tea every day, you will be able to notice results after a couple of weeks.

Pumice Stone

A pumice stone is the good old grandma solution to get rid of your hairs. Indeed, whilst in the shower, by gently rubbing the stone on your skin will not only remove your hairs but also rejuvenate your skin. Never use the stone on dry skin as it can irritate your skin. Make sure you keep on doing this method on a daily basis to see results. Yes, there are not immediate but effective on the long run.

Lemon and Sugar

This remedy has also been used for year and seem to be really useful and often seen as a replacement of waxing. This might a bit messy and slightly painful to start with but will properly remove the hairs by the roots and future hairs will hardly grow.

You simply add a cup of sugar, squeeze the juice from half a lemon and mix with ¼ cup of homey in a saucepan. The mix should be heated on the stove and then once you feel it's cooled down a bit but still warm, apply on the areas you want to get rid of your hairs. Let it sit for 30 seconds and pull off the stripe quickly against the direction of the skin.

These remedies might be great replacement for shaving and waxing but yet not as effective as laser hair removal. The results are astonishingly quick and last for ever after 6 sessions. If you want to give it a try or even want to know what the best solution for your hairs is, we suggest booking a consultation with one of our dermatologists in one of our Skin clinics.
