Going to the gym might be a place where you want to look your best, but honesty why would you make an effort when deep down you know that you will be all sweaty and look red like a tomato. Makeup can help you psychologically when stepping into the gym but unfortunately, this will only increase the creation of pimples with your pores opening and letting the makeup seep in.
What you wear is probably as important as choosing what kind of exercise you will be doing. If you are likely to get acne, wearing clothing made of 100% lycra or nylon is a big no-no. We recommend having lightweight, loose-fitting garments made of natural fabrics such as cotton or wool. Consequently, your skin will be able to breathe and will be less likely to increase pimples on your skin.
The equipment you may use when going for a workout, whether it’s going to the gym or even wearing a helmet, might not be clean from the previous user. Therefore, making sure you have wipes to make sure there is no bacteria lying around is a good idea.
Furthermore, it’s not only about having everything clean but also making sure there isn’t too much friction created when exercising. Friction is the main cause of acne if exercising.
When is the best time to shower? As soon as you are finished with your work out is definitely the best time to wash. Why? I’s a medicated exfoliating cleanser by removing all the bacteria from your skin. However bear in mind that scrubbing your skin too hard whilst showering will only cause more acne breakouts. If ever you cannot shower straight away, it’s always good to wipe yourself with medicated pads.
