The ins and outs of body hair removal

Getting rid of unwanted body hair can be a lifelong pastime - because let's face it, it's everywhere. It’s on our legs, bikini area, underarms, and for many, our faces too. Keeping our body hair in check is much easier during the colder months, as it's ok to cover it up under tights and long-sleeved tops. However come summer it's time to bare all, and that's when the real issue of body hair removal comes into play.
An average woman's legs have 16,800 hairs. Yep, you may want to read that again, because that is indeed a whole lot of hair that you could really rather do without. Some women wax, epilate, shave, or cream this hair away, and some leave it as nature intended. If you're after ways to remove hair that won't make it grow back darker and thicker, and can keep you hair-free for weeks, laser hair removal is a great option to consider.
As well as our legs, we've also got that annoying underarm hair to deal with. Combined, these two areas have on average 78,000 hair follicles. Yikes! Underarm hair is tricky to get rid of, as the skin at a joint is incredibly supple so it's harder to get into all those nooks and crevices.
Getting rid of unwanted body hair can be arduous, and it probably seems more tedious during the summer months because our hair actually grows the most this time of year. It's all down to increased blood circulation from higher temperatures, which in turn makes hair grow faster.
Sadly, there is no miracle cure to get rid of unwanted body hair, and the best thing to do is consider your options and reasons for hair removal. Understanding your hair and skin will be an important factor in choosing which removal method is best for you.
