A step-by-step guide to anti-ageing for athletes

Age can catch up with the best of us, with even healthy and highly active athletes experiencing unwelcome signs of ageing. Below are few steps athletes can follow to delay the ageing process as much as possible:

Step 1: try to tackle hair loss

One of the obvious signs of ageing for men is hair loss and can become quite a sensitive issue. Swimmers should be particularly aware, as the chlorine in the pool can contribute towards hair loss and can be damaging with long-term exposure. Consider investing in shampoo specifically designed to prevent chlorine damage or always wear a swimming cap.

Step 2: fight against wrinkles

There is bad news for runners who spend a great deal of time in the sun. Excessive sunlight exposure can increase the risk of your skin losing its elasticity and can slow down collagen production if the correct precautions are not taken.

If you begin to notice any signs of ageing then there are a number of options you could consider to overcome this issue. One of the obvious options would be to invest in a good quality sunscreen suitable for your skin.
