Natural remedies for age spots
25th September 2013
Brown spots, liver spots, sun spots, lentigo and solar lentigine – they are all the same thing. There are a few natural remedies that may or may not help, but they might be worth a try before you look at trying something more permanent.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Finally chop an onion (still interested?) and then strain the contents in a muslin so you are just left with the juice. Mix with equal parts apple cider vinegar and apply to the area for minimum 30 minutes.
Leave lemon juice directly on the skin overnight every day for about two months.
Neat aloe vera juice or gel can be purchased from most health food shops. Put this directly on the skin, twice a day for at least 45 minutes each time.
With all these remedies, if you don’t notice a difference (take photos to compare) in six weeks, then it’s probably best to move onto something else. A treatment that definitely works is Mircrodermabrasion. Find out more about microdermabrasion or just come to one of our many clinics in the UK to discuss the treatment with a specialist.
As with all things, prevention is better than cure so make sure to use plenty of sun-scream to avoid further sun damage.
