10th October 2013
Acne is an unpleasant condition of the skin, which has a potential to become severe overtime. It is most commonly characterised as visible red pimples on the face. Acne can often leave one feeling withdrawn and low in self esteem due to its visibility. If you have been exposed to bad acne and are frustrated by it, then please read on....
Different versions of acne:
Acne vulgaris: this is the most common form of acne. People with this have both blackheads and pimples, around the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead area. The pimples can however progressively spread to the neck and back in severe situations. As this form of acne worsens, the pimples and blackheads expand and spread. This type produces very oily skin.
Pityrosporum folliculitis: pimples and clogged pores also occur with this form of acne too, but they are in different areas of your skin and look different than in acne vulgaris . The skin of the upper trunk area like the back, upper arms and sometimes the neck is often affected and this condition is often seen in young to middle aged adults.
