Are you among the 89% of people who can’t recognise the difference between varicose veins and thread veins? The easiest way to tell them apart is through their obvious difference in appearances. Varicose veins are enlarged and swollen veins that are usually dark purple or blue in colour and mostly occur in the legs and feet. In some cases, such bulging veins can appear lumpy or twisted. Thread or spider veins on the other hand are much smaller and can be found just under the surface of the skin, with an approximate diameter of between one to three millimeters on any part of the body. The most common places these can be found are on the face and legs.

Varicose Veins

The job of the veins in the body is to carry un-purified blood from the organs to the heart. The un-purified blood heads towards the heart in one direction which is usually against the pull of gravity. If one of the valves stops working properly, the blood can collect in the vein eventually causing it to become a swollen varicose vein. Varicose veins are quite serious can should be removed by surgery.

Thread Veins

Thread veins however, can be a caused by any of the following factors: genetics, pregnancy hormones, cuts, exposure to sunlight etc. So if you’re feeling conscious about the look of broken veins on your face or on your body, we can help you remove them thanks to our thread vein removal treatment.
