How many sessions do I need for full body laser hair removal?

Close Icon

At sk:n we usually recommend a course of treatment for the best results. Your laser practitioner will assess how many treatments you need during your free consultation.

How much does laser hair removal cost for the bikini line cost?

Close Icon

Prices for bikini laser hair removal start from £137, but your package cost will be confirmed during your consultation. We do have offers running from time to time, so discuss with your practitioner during your consultation.

How painful is bikini laser hair removal?

Close Icon

Laser hair removal is described as feeling like the flick of an elastic band across your body, with the area sometimes feeling a little warm. This is why our lasers are fitted with a cooling device that cools the skin, and minimises discomfort during treatment.

Is bikini laser hair removal permanent?

Close Icon

There is no way to completely remove all unwanted hair permanently – but laser hair removal does give permanent reduction, provided the hair has enough pigment to attract the laser. Even when the hair follicle is damaged or destroyed via laser treatment, hormonal changes can cause new follicles to develop, meaning hair will grow in that area. Laser hair removal is one of the most effective and longest-lasting solutions for hair removal as it targets the individual follicles to damage or destroy the root.

Most of our clients see permanent reduction of up to 90%, and results are dependent on hair type and colour. You may need a top-up course of 3 treatments in future, but many clients never require further treatment.

Is full body laser hair removal safe?

Close Icon

The lasers used for hair removal are very powerful, so it’s extremely important for your safety that you choose a provider like sk:n who is monitored by the Care Quality Commission, and has strict clinical, training and safety protocols. This means the practitioner carrying out the treatment has met minimum training requirements and that the clinic achieves important health, safety and hygiene standards.

sk:n has treated millions of clients over 30 years, so you can be sure you’re in the best hands with us. Read The ultimate guide to laser hair removal for more information about our laser hair removal practitioners training and expertise.

Is laser hair removal suitable for darker skin?

Close Icon

Yes. Laser hair treatment is fine for any skin type or colour, as long as your hairs are dark enough to attract the laser.

Is it better to wax or have laser hair removal on your bikini area?

Close Icon

Waxing regularly and over long periods of time can be temporarily effective, but can cause damage such as darkening and lightening of the skin (hyper and hypo pigmentation), irritate the sensitive area, and lead to ingrown hairs which can lead to scarring. As laser hair removal permanently reduces the thickness and growth of the hairs and isn’t abrasive to the skin, it doesn’t have any detrimental effects to the skin’s tone and texture. Plus, after a course of treatment, the hair is reduced in thickness, darkness and amount, and therefore the need to regularly remove the hair is massively reduced.

What happens after full body laser hair removal?

Close Icon

The laser targets only the hair follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. You may experience some redness, but this should subside within 24 hours. You should avoid sun exposure after treatment as the area will be more sensitive and more susceptible to sun damage, and always use SPF if you are going to expose the area!
