The discomfort caused by treatment depends very much on the severity of the problem. A local anaesthetic is enough in the vast majority of cases to allow the acne treatment to proceed without a problem. If necessary an anaesthetic called a 'field block' or a general anaesthetic can be used. These options will be discussed at consultation and every effort is made to relieve any discomfort.
Are the effects of acne treatment permanent?
The acne treatment aids collagen growth and therefore the effects are long lasting. The severity of any scarring is greatly diminished and the effects are more permanent than any other treatment method. In some cases more than one treatment will be needed to achieve the desired result.
